Martin Haaksema is an IT advisor at the municipal BAR organization, an administrative partnership between the municipalities of Barendrecht, Albrandswaard, and Ridderkerk. The previous model for offering secure public internet was very labor-intensive. Every day, they had to generate, print, and hang up a new code. In addition, it required complete administration for about 1,500 regular guests, who all had their own codes and regularly called the help desk about them. Public internet needed to be simpler, more efficient, and clearer.

Choosing Publicroam

Implementation in two days

The technical implementation was quite simple. “The technology Publicroam uses is completely refined. All in all, we spent maybe two days building and testing.” More time was spent on communication: the changes and the reasons behind them were explained step-by-step to over 1,400 employees.

The result

“The app is so user-friendly that everyone can use it: you answer the four questions and you’re done.” Out of more than 2,000 unique users, only 20 reports followed.
